AstroBAT Receives ESA BIC Slovakia Grant

We are thrilled to announce that AstroBAT has been selected as an ESA BIC Slovakia incubatee, receiving funding and mentorship to develop our next-generation Li-ion battery management systems for spacecraft applications. This milestone marks a major step forward for our DIOO battery pack project and the entire AstroBAT team.

The ESA Business Incubation Centre (ESA BIC) Slovakia is part of the European Space Agency's global network of incubators, supporting deep-tech startups leveraging space technology. As an ESA BIC incubatee, AstroBAT gains access to ESA expertise, technical facilities, and an extensive network of partners and investors across Europe.

For the DIOO battery pack project, this grant directly accelerates the development of our Li-ion (LG MJ1) battery management system for low-Earth orbit. The project officially kicks off in July 2026. We will be using the funding to advance our TRL level from the current TRL 2 towards TRL 3 (proof of concept) and beyond, working towards the qualification stages needed for actual satellite integration. We extend our deepest gratitude to ESA BIC Slovakia and look forward to sharing more updates as the project progresses.
